Puerto Rico favorites @ the moment

Hippie Mango

Located near Jobos Beach in Isabela, Hippie Mango is easily one of my favorite places anywhere. Everything is made from scratch using local ingredients, and the food feels incredibly natural and raw in the best way. My go-to is Wildo’s Brekky, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

The Bookmark

There’s something special about a bookstore and coffee shop combo, and The Bookmark does it beautifully. They have locations in Hatillo and San Juan, and it’s exactly the kind of space I wish we had more of in Puerto Rico. You can hang out, work, read, enjoy baked goods, and choose between matcha or coffee.

SOS Art and Craft

This is hands down my favorite art supply store. It’s small, but the selection is incredible. SOS Art and Craft carries everything from painting and drawing supplies to spray paint, oils, pastels, notebooks, and more, all at really reasonable prices. It’s one of those places you walk into “just to browse” and leave with a handful of things just because. I had a hard time finding art stores here compared to in the states, this one left me pleasantly surprised.

LAU Pottery Studio

I made my own matcha bowl here, such a good time. Wish it was closer to where I live, ceramics are so satisfying to make. LAU Pottery Studio recently moved to Dorado, so a teeny bit closer to me now. I love places that are rooted in craft and process, and this studio has that grounded, handmade energy that makes you want to slow down and create something with your hands.

Café Botánico

This is one of my favorite corners in Old San Juan. It’s dreamy, cozy, and has this vintage Parisian feel that makes it stand out. It’s not loud or flashy, just charming and intentional. They have matcha, and while they didn’t have Wi-Fi the last time I went, it almost feels like it doesn’t matter.
