Identifying Thought Loops & Strongholds

The thoughts that quietly loop in the background of our mind can become strongholds if we don’t address them. These mental strongholds shape how we see ourselves, others, and even God.

2 Corinthians 10:5 reminds us: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Some common thought loops sound like:

"Nothing ever works out for me."

"I always mess things up."

"I can’t trust anyone."

These are more than random thoughts—they're beliefs we've unknowingly agreed with. And until they’re replaced with truth, they will continue to guide our behavior, shape our mood, and direct our decisions.

Action item:

Write down 3 recurring negative thoughts. Next to each, write a scripture that contradicts that lie. Speak the truth aloud daily.
